About Us

Mizaan is balance.

Driven by passion and built on purpose, this is where ambition meets action. Equip yourself with the right tools and the right community. Be part of something bigger.

Who We Are

Mizaan Law is a not-for-profit organisation built on a commitment to uplift, support, and empower Muslims in law. Grounded in purpose and driven by community, we create spaces where legal minds can grow with confidence, and where ambition turns into action, bridging the gap between aspiration and opportunity.

Through education, mentorship, community service, and faith-centred professional development, we aim to create structured pathways and meaningful opportunities that foster connection, enhance career progression, and build practical skills while nurturing spiritual growth.

Mizaan Law is building trailblazers —Muslims in law capable of effecting justice and positive change for the community and for the ummah.

…give full measure and weight with justice…” [Quran 11:85]

Impact Pillars

Our Mission

We stand at the intersection between khidmah (service), imaan (faith), ‘adl (justice), and law – working to create balance, representation, and opportunity at every stage.

Our Vision

To cultivate a just and balanced legal landscape where Muslim voices are empowered, representation is reflected at every level, and faith and law exist in principled harmony.

Testimonials

“On behalf of Human Appeal Australia, we’d like to say JazakumAllahu khairan to the incredible team at Mizaan for putting up this initiative. We are proud to support this… as a singular organisation that gathers [Muslims in law] together.”

— Omar Jamal (Human Appeal Australia)

“This is an organisation that is sorely needed in our legal profession and in the Muslim community more generally… It’s so beautiful to see so many people wanting to give their time back to the community. You know this is a profession that is very much financially driven, and to see people wanting to instead use their time and their resources and skills to be able to invest in the growth of the community and the well-being of the community, rather than just the pursuit of financial gain, accumulation of personal wealth, career progression, etc, it’s really heartening to see and we need it more than ever.

— Nick Hanna (Principal Solicitor at Hanna Legal, Director at Civil Liberties Defence Centre)

“Within the community, there's such an appetite for giving back and improving our community, and learning from our past and also having a look at where we can go in the future. I feel that at Mizaan there's a good appetite for that, and then there is also the right team around you to make sure that those changes that you're looking to see will start to bring forward the outcomes that we're looking for.

— Adam Al-hayek (Legal Observers)

“Real change does not happen in isolation; it is driven by communities that advocate for one another and a genuine desire to create growth. By fostering connection, Mizaan Law Association helps ensure that the profession more accurately reflects the diversity of the society it serves.”

— Bouchra Chehimy (Law Graduate at Allens)
