Rawan is the co-founder and President of Mizaan Law. She is currently in her fifth year completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) at the University of Technology Sydney, where she also serves as a UTS Student Ambassador. Rawan is also employed as a commercial litigation paralegal.

Rawan is committed to balance and established Mizaan Law in recognition of this, striving to address the inequities faced by Muslims in the legal industry. She aims to increase representation, access, and opportunity for Muslims in law. Beyond Mizaan Law, Rawan is an active volunteer with numerous other humanitarian organisations.

Aminah Elmasri is the co-founder and Vice-President at Mizaan Law. Studying a double degree of Law and Business at UTS, she is driven by a passion for equity and community empowerment. As a UTS Equity Ambassador and academic mentor, she supports younger students and advocates for inclusive educational spaces.

Drawing on her practical experience in family law, Aminah is committed to advancing access to justice and supporting others through empathetic legal practice. Guided by her Islamic values of compassion and fairness, she seeks to blend law and faith through community-focused initiatives that achieve meaningful social change.

Aminah Elmasri

Souad is the Secretary of Mizaan and a final year Law and Commerce student at UNSW. He currently works as a paralegal at Kah Lawyers and has over four years of experience across immigration and administrative law in both the APS and now, private practice.

Souad’s passion for immigration law and community building is grounded in his parents’ own journey of coming to and settling in Australia.

Wafa Rahman headshot

Wafa is the Treasurer of Mizaan Law Association and an Auditor at the Australian Taxation Office. She specialises in Capital Gains Tax and brings a strong background in legal debt recovery. Alongside her professional work, Wafa is completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Finance) at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Treasurer

Lina is the Law Graduate Adviser at Mizaan. She oversees the organisation’s activities and works closely with the Presidents and Executive team to ensure Mizaan meets its mission and objectives.

Lina graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Economics) with Distinction from UNSW. She is also the recipient of the 2024 ‘Law Student of the Year Award’ and the 2026 AYBIL and ANZSIL Student Paper Prize for her paper ‘Hashtagging Genocide: Popular International Law in the Digital Age’.

Lina is currently a graduate at Mallesons.

Law Graduate Advisor

Michael is the Head of Sponsorships at Mizaan Law and is responsible for cultivating partnerships with industry partners and law firms to support the organisations growth. He is a penultimate Law and Journalism student at UTS and a 2026 recipient of the Australian Government’s New Colombo Plan Scholarship.

He is a global student ambassador for the London School of Economics, the treasurer of the UTS Public Speaking Society and is currently working as a commercial litigation paralegal at Kennedys.

Lubana is in her fifth year of a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales, where she also served as a UNSW Student Ambassador. She is a paralegal in the Banking & Projects team at Gilbert + Tobin and currently heads the Education Portfolio at Mizaan Law.

Maria is a recent graduate in Law and Business (Marketing) from University of Technology Sydney.

She is currently working as a solicitor in insurance law at Wotton Kearney.

Maria leads the Growth (Careers) portfolio and is passionate about assisting others.

Yasmeen is the Head of Social Justice at Mizaan Law. She is also a Tenants Advocate at a community legal centre, focused on supporting vulnerable communities across Western Sydney.

Yasmeen holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from the University of Technology Sydney (2025) and was admitted as a lawyer in December 2025. Passionate about justice, community, and a well-made iced coffee.

Ayah Elmasri headshot

Ayah is a Law and Media Business student at UTS with a strong passion for content creation and marketing, and a natural eye for the little moments and candid details that matter.

Ayah has a strong commitment to advocacy, especially regarding social justice and international conflict, and is outspoken on these issues. Her approach to law is centred around building genuine connections through shared values and strong identity — leading with intention and bringing a part of that into everything you do. Ayah hopes to bring this to life through Mizaan Law by connecting with like-minded individuals who share the same mindset… so long as it is captured and documented along the way :)
